Our Suppliers

VegetablesOur fruit and veg comes from the fabulous Eades Greengrocers, just up the road. Now in their 7th generation as vegetable producers, they provide a fantastic array of local produce, bursting with freshness and flavour. Much of their produce is grown locally in their own fields at Swainswick, Bath, so the veg on your plate at dinner could well have been picked that morning.

A cowButchery arrives from several sources: much of our organic meat comes from the Neston Park Estate near Atworth. We also work with a number of other small independent local producers from around the area such as Marshfield, Lilliput, Cullimore and Naile Farms. These suppliers only produce a limited amount of premium quality meat, so they let us know when they have stock available and we buy accordingly – you’ll often see the their produce appear on our specials board. We also work Bartlett & Sons, who supply us with local woodland pork and butchers Walter Rose & Son who have their own farm at Bishops Cannings.

FishFish comes from two suppliers Chef Direct and Wing of St Mawes. Chef Direct work with south coast fish markets and use local fishermen to supply sustainable fish that are caught traditionally. Wing of St. Mawes work with fleets from the ports of Newlyn, Looe and Brixham in Cornwall and Devon. There’s only one thing to look for when it comes to fish, of course, and that’s freshness. We’re constantly delighted by the quality and range of produce they supply us with.
